Summer Show 2018 report

The Summer Show on 2 June 2018 was a successful and enjoyable event, well supported by the public who attended in good numbers. Enough iris had survived blustery weather to see most classes entered on the day, although the tall bearded were fewer and a little bruised in some cases.

A fine ‘Silverado’ did get ‘Best in Show’, whilst the beardless and species iris entries were ever attractive in their range and finer detail.

Visitors packed out the afternoon talk on ‘Growing bearded and beardless iris’ and the display stands drew lots of interest.

So too, the nursery, Woottens of Wenhaston bringing along some fine plants and seen to enjoy every minute.

Hopefully we’ll see more members enter the Shows and continuing collaboration with nurseries.
