AGM and Lecture Day – Saturday 21 September, 2019

RHS Rosemoor, Great Torrington, Devon EX38 8PH

We are very fortunate to be holding our 2019 AGM at RHS Rosemoor and to be allowed the
use of their Learning Centre. We also have the opportunity to visit the garden and enjoy the
early Autumn Colour, the hot Borders are usually amazing at this time of year. The day will
commence with coffee/biscuits on arrival at 11.00am and the AGM will take place at
11.30am. This will be followed by a buffet lunch. At 2pm Sarah Cook will talk on - 'Sir Cedric
Morris - art, irises, gardening and friends'. Most plants tell a story - Morris' irises and his
other plants are no exception. Sarah will weave these stories through her talk, she will look
at his art, introduce us to some of his friends and take us through some of the other aspects
that her research has taken her. Sarah, is the National Collection Holder of Irises bred by Sir
Cedric Morris. There will be time to view the garden after lunch and at the end of day.
If you would like to make a weekend of it, we can supply a list of possible B & B’s and
gardens to visit to extend your stay (please see below).

Sarah's talk is open to the public (normal RHS admission applies to non-BIS members).

There is a charge of £15 per member to cover the lunch and morning coffee but BIS
members will be allowed free admittance to the garden on production of their membership
card. Members who wish to attend only the AGM and not requiring lunch or coffee should
let Jill Whitehead know so that free access to the meeting can be assured.
